    Mansa, April 27: In order to carry out the entire procurement process of wheat in the mandis of the district in a comfortable environment as per the instructions of the state government, full care is being taken for the convenience of farmers, artiyaas, laborers and transporters.  During the procurement season, every section associated with the procurement works along with the departmental officials has an important role to play.  These views were expressed by the Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Baldeep Kaur while expressing satisfaction over the purchase of wheat in the mandis of the district.

        The Deputy Commissioner said that other necessary arrangements including tarpaulins have already been completed in the mandis of the district to deal with the possible rain. She said that the payment of the purchased wheat of the farmers is being made in their bank accounts within 48 hours.

      She said that 924 crore rupees have been paid to the farmers for the purchased wheat and 59 percent lifting of wheat has also been done till last evening.

      The Deputy Commissioner informed that out of 495150 metric tons of wheat that arrived in the Mandis , 478949 i.e. 96 percent of the wheat has been purchased, out of which 151432 metric tons by Pungrain agency , 123552 metric tons by Markfed, 125300 bh PANSUP , 74350 by Punjab Warehouse and  4315 metric tons of wheat has been purchased by traders. She appealed to the farmers to bring only dry wheat in the mandis so that the crop can be purchased on the spot.
